A tragic domestic incident occurred in the Badagry area of Lagos State, where a man allegedly stabbed his 38-year-old wife to death. The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the arrest of the suspect following the shocking event.
The command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, told newsmen on Thursday that the crime took place on Wednesday in Oke-Ira, Ilogbo Eremi. Police detectives from the Morogbo Division were alerted and quickly moved to the scene to investigate the matter.
“A team of detectives while on surveillance township monitoring patrol at Oke-Ira, Ilogbo Eremi, got information that the suspect had stabbed his wife to death. The team swiftly raced to the scene and apprehended the suspect,” Hundeyin stated.
Authorities recovered a kitchen knife stained with blood, which was allegedly used in the attack. The suspect was immediately taken into custody and interrogated at the station.
According to the police, the man admitted to the crime during questioning. The victim’s body was later taken to the morgue at Badagry General Hospital for preservation.
Hundeyin further noted that the case would be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba for further legal action.
