Man Arrested for Motorcycle Theft in Osun, Says He’s Trying To Revenge His Stolen Bike

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun State has arrested a 24-year-old man, Sola Jimoh, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle in Osogbo. The incident, which took place on Christmas morning, was detailed in a statement released by the NSCDC spokesperson, ASC Kehinde Adeleke, on Friday, December 27, 2024.

According to the statement, Jimoh admitted to leaving his hometown near Osogbo at 6 a.m. on Christmas Day with the intention of stealing a motorcycle. He claimed that his motivation stemmed from losing his own motorcycle to theft back in September 2024.

Upon arriving in Osogbo, Jimoh spotted an unattended motorcycle parked under a tree in the Powerline area. With no one in sight, he quickly seized the opportunity to take it. However, his plan unraveled when the owner noticed the theft and immediately reported the matter to the nearest NSCDC office. Jimoh was apprehended while trying to flee with the stolen bike.

NSCDC Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo confirmed the arrest and stated that the suspect admitted to his actions, claiming they were driven by a desire for revenge. “Jimoh will face charges in court, where justice will be served,” Sotiyo said.

He also urged the public to assist security agencies by providing timely information to help prevent criminal activities. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and community cooperation in maintaining public safety.
