Man Dressed as Womam Arrested in Adamawa Church

A man, who disguised himself as a woman, has been arrested inside a church in Adamawa State. The 19-year-old, identified as Mohammed Umar and living on Abuja Road in Yola South Local Government Area, was found wandering around the premises of LCCN Church in Ngurore, Yola South LGA.

The Adamawa State Police Command, which currently holds Mohammed in custody, said the man was spotted wearing clothing typically worn by women. This unusual appearance raised suspicion among church members and led to his arrest.

According to a statement from the police public relations officer, Suleiman Nguroje, the arrest took place on Monday, May 18, 2025, following a report made by a church member named Sunday Andrawus. The report was sent to Ngurore Divisional Police Headquarters after Sunday noticed Mohammed’s movements within the church grounds.

Nguroje further noted that the police commissioner for Adamawa State, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered the case to be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yola for a detailed and careful investigation.
