A man identified as Wealth Nnamdi is currently on the run after allegedly killing his pregnant fiancée, Osasu Isaac, and her three-year-old daughter, Miracle, following an argument in their home on Idiangbona Street, Ovbiogoe Community, Benin, Edo State.
A neighbor, who chose to remain anonymous, revealed that the couple had been living together for over three years and were planning to get married soon. Their traditional wedding was scheduled for March 29, while the church wedding was set for April 6.
The neighbor stated, “Osasu Isaac, known as Mama Hallelujah, a petty trader, and Wealth Nnamdi from Imo State had been together for over three years. In fact, the man moved in with the deceased with her daughter from a previous marriage. The deceased, who was pregnant, unfortunately, was killed alongside her daughter by the same man she was supposed to wed in a few days.”
According to reports, the couple often argued, so when they had another disagreement on Sunday, the neighbors did not suspect anything unusual. However, things allegedly took a violent turn, leading to the tragic deaths of Osasu and her daughter.
The suspect reportedly locked the bodies in the room and fled the scene. Days later, neighbors noticed a foul smell coming from the room and contacted the police.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Command, Moses Yamu, noted that an investigation into the brutal killings had begun.
Yamu stated, “On March 18, 2025, at about 20:30hrs, the Ekiadolor Division received a report from a concerned neighbor of the deceased that he was perceiving an offensive odor from his neighbor’s room located at Idiangbona Street of Ovbiogoe Community.”
He added that officers arrived at the location and forced the door open, where they discovered the decomposing bodies. Osasu had a deep wound on her head, suspected to have been caused by a machete, while her daughter was found lifeless on the bed.
