Manchester United forward Amad Diallo may miss the remainder of the season after suffering an ankle ligament injury during training, according to reports on Saturday.
The 22-year-old Ivorian winger, who has been one of United’s standout performers in an otherwise challenging season, is awaiting further tests to determine the full extent of the injury. The club has yet to release an official statement on his condition.
Diallo played a crucial role in United’s campaign, scoring key goals against Manchester City and Liverpool. He has netted six times in his last 14 appearances, making his potential long-term absence a significant setback for manager Ruben Amorim.
Ahead of Sunday’s match against Tottenham, Amorim had already confirmed that multiple players were dealing with injuries and illness. Reports suggest midfielders Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, and Toby Collyer have also picked up injuries.
United’s injury woes have worsened in recent weeks, with Lisandro Martinez ruled out for the season due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Additionally, Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans, Mason Mount, and Altay Bayindir remain sidelined.
With the squad heavily depleted, 17-year-old academy prospect Chido Obi has been promoted to first-team training to help fill the gaps.
