Max Air has been chosen as the official airline to airlift Jigawa State pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Hajj. The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) made this decision as part of its efforts to ensure a smooth and efficient travel experience for pilgrims.
The Director General of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Ahmed Labbo, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Thursday in Dutse, the state capital. The statement, which was released through the board’s Public Relations Officer, Habibu Babura, noted that the airlift of intending pilgrims from Nigeria to Saudi Arabia will begin in May 2025.
Labbo expressed confidence in the ongoing preparations, assuring that all necessary measures have been put in place to facilitate a seamless journey for pilgrims. He noted that the board had finalized arrangements for essential travel items, including uniforms and traveling bags, which are now ready for collection by the intending pilgrims.
The Director General reiterated the board’s commitment to ensuring that pilgrims have a comfortable experience both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia. He further stated that the selection of Max Air was based on NAHCON’s focus on maintaining high safety, efficiency, and comfort standards for all travelers.
Labbo also took the opportunity to appreciate Governor Umar Namadi for his continuous support and leadership, which he said has played a crucial role in the success of Hajj operations in Jigawa State.
“As the 2025 Hajj approaches, the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board remains focused on providing exceptional services to pilgrims, ensuring a memorable and spiritual experience,” he stated.
Additionally, Labbo noted that the partnership with Max Air is expected to yield positive outcomes, given the airline’s track record in successfully transporting pilgrims in previous years.
