Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame has revealed that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under the ongoing Operation Hadin Kai, recently carried out successful airstrikes that destroyed a factory where improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were being made by terrorists.
The operation also led to the destruction of multiple gun trucks and the death of many fighters in Kwaltiri, a location within the well-known Tumbuktu Triangle in Borno State.
Speaking from Abuja, Ejodame gave details of the operation in an official statement released on Thursday, June 19, 2025. He noted that the air raid took place the day before, following a tip-off from intelligence sources who reported unusual terrorist activity in the area.
According to Ejodame, a surveillance mission was launched to confirm the intelligence. During the aerial monitoring, the NAF identified a site that was being used to produce IEDs, along with armed vehicles ready for combat.
After confirmation, NAF fighter jets were deployed to the area and executed precise strikes that destroyed the factory and the vehicles.
“This operation is a major blow to terrorists’ fighting capabilities, as the successful strikes not only disrupted their command and control as well as logistics chains but also sent shockwaves through their ranks, significantly degrading their morale and operational momentum,” Ejodame stated.
