NAHCON Airlifts Over 14,000 Nigerian Pilgrims from Saudi Arabia

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has successfully airlifted more than 14,000 Nigerian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia as part of the ongoing return phase of the 2025 Hajj exercise.

The latest development was confirmed by the NAHCON Command and Control Centre based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, through an official post made on the Commission’s verified X account on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

The report noted that Flynas flight XY9082 took off from Jeddah at 7:51 am local time, heading to Sokoto with 422 pilgrims on board. These pilgrims were accompanied by four officials, marking another step forward in the massive airlift operation. This flight raised the total number of Nigerian pilgrims returned from the Kingdom to 13,589 across 32 flights.

Shortly afterward, another Flynas aircraft, flight XY9022, departed from Jeddah at 10:33 am local time, transporting 425 pilgrims from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) alongside four accompanying officials. With this second flight, the cumulative number of Nigerian pilgrims airlifted during the 2025 Hajj rose to 14,014 across 33 completed flights.

The Commission noted, “Our commitment to a smooth Hajj airlift remains unwavering. We are steadily progressing in conveying all Nigerian pilgrims to the Holy Land for their spiritual journey.”
