Naira abuse: Policeman in Viral Video With Okoya’s Sons Detained for Misconduct

The Nigeria Police Force has taken disciplinary action against an unnamed officer who appeared in a viral video alongside Wahab and Raheem, the sons of renowned businessman Chief Razaq Okoya. The video, which showcased the abuse of the Nigerian currency, the naira, drew widespread criticism from the public.

The development was confirmed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, through a post on his X account on Friday.

Adejobi emphasized that the officer’s behavior in the video violated the ethical standards and principles of the police force. He assured the public that appropriate measures are being taken to address the misconduct.

In his statement, Adejobi wrote, “The policeman captured in the recent viral video shared by the sons of the Lagos businessman, Chief Okoya, where they were abusing the naira, has been identified and detained for disciplinary action.”

The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to maintaining professional standards and urged officers to adhere to their code of conduct at all times.
