The naira slipped to N1,562 per dollar in the parallel market on Wednesday, dropping slightly from N1,560 recorded the previous day.
However, in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), the currency saw a mild recovery, strengthening to N1,520 per dollar after two days of losses.
Figures from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed the naira appreciated by N10.5 in the official market, up from N1,530.5 on Tuesday.
As a result, the gap between the official and parallel market rates widened to N42 per dollar, compared to N29.5 the previous day.
