The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy and Communications, Daniel Bwala, has strongly attacked Senator Ali Ndume of Borno South, calling him a “pathological liar” and accusing him of misleading the public.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Bwala dismissed Ndume’s recent accusation that President Tinubu was showing favoritism in his appointments. He questioned Ndume’s credibility, saying the senator has held onto power for decades while securing top jobs for his children.
“When you hear about the message and forget about the messenger, it’s where the messenger has pure motive. If the messenger has an agenda, then the messenger and the message are part of what you will consider,” Bwala said during the interview.
He also praised the Borno State governor for handling security issues with seriousness and dedication. According to Bwala, the governor has never blamed the federal government for the challenges in the region but has instead raised valid concerns about the resurgence of insurgent activities.
“Ndume lied, I have never talked about Soyinka, Obasanjo, or Kukah. Ali Ndume, with respect, is a pathological liar,” Bwala added.
He went further to say that Ndume has done very little for his people despite being in the National Assembly for over 22 years. According to Bwala, during the 2023 election season, Ndume was even attacked by his own people in his village.
“In 2023, he went to his village, he was stoned,” Bwala noted.
He accused Ndume of hypocrisy, saying the senator complains about nepotism while benefiting from it.
“Look at Ali Ndume; he tells you the president is nepotistic. Is there any greater nepotism than one man from a senatorial district saying he will stay as a senator forever?” Bwala asked.
He alleged that Ndume’s children and close associates have been given positions in key institutions like the Central Bank of Nigeria and the NNPC, while the children of the poor are being sent to join the army.
Bwala also warned that freedom of speech has limits within the law and that using it to spread lies or cause harm could lead to punishment.
