The Nigeria Police Force has made significant strides in combating crime over the past six weeks, apprehending a total of 1,284 suspects in various operations across the nation. These arrests include individuals accused of armed robbery, kidnapping, rape, homicide, and cult-related activities.
In a detailed briefing on Friday, Force Spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi revealed the comprehensive results of these operations. Among those arrested, 307 are suspected of armed robbery, 296 of kidnapping, 176 of rape and defilement, 301 of homicide, and 204 of being involved in cult activities.
Adejobi also highlighted the success of the police in rescuing 97 kidnapped victims during this period. In addition to these rescues, the police have recovered a significant cache of weapons, including 284 firearms and 6,702 rounds of ammunition.
The police spokesperson emphasized the importance of these achievements in improving national security and maintaining public safety. He stated, “In the last six weeks, the Nigerian police force has arrested 307 armed robbery suspects, 296 kidnapping suspects, 301 homicide suspects, 176 rape and defilement suspects, and 204 suspected cultists.”
