Nollywood Actress Tonto Dikeh Summoned by Police Over Allegations of Defamation

The Nigeria Police Force has officially invited Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh to their headquarters as part of an ongoing investigation into several serious allegations. The case involves accusations of criminal defamation, cyberbullying, and forgery.

The notice was issued by the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Unit, which is responsible for overseeing this investigation. According to the invitation letter, which was signed by A.A. Elleman, the Head of the IGP Monitoring Unit, Tonto Dikeh’s name has come up prominently in their inquiries.

The letter, dated August 5, 2024, stated: “This office is investigating a case of criminal defamation, forgery, falsehood, cyberbullying, and criminal conversion reported to the Inspector-General of Police, in which your name and others feature prominently.”

The document goes on to request Dikeh’s presence for an interview with SP Aminu Abdullahi Sokoto on August 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The purpose of this meeting is to gather more information about the accusations and to provide Dikeh an opportunity to address the charges.
