No November Salary Without Resident Registration, Kwara Govt Warns Workers

The Kwara State Government has announced that public sector workers must complete their resident registration to receive their November salaries and bonuses.

This requirement, introduced to improve planning and service delivery across the state, was reiterated in an official statement released by Dr. Hauwa Nuru, Kwara’s Commissioner for Finance.

The statement, signed by the ministry’s Press Secretary, Babatunde Abdulrasheed, emphasized the necessity of this measure to ensure accurate data collection and efficient resource allocation.

Dr. Nuru explained that the registration process, overseen by the Kwara State Residents’ Registration Agency (KWSRRA), began in July. KWSRRA is responsible for compiling detailed records of all residents in the state and assigning them unique identification numbers.

The Commissioner highlighted that this database would be essential for better service planning, security enhancement, and fair resource distribution.

In her statement, Dr. Nuru stressed the importance of this initiative, stating that all state workers, including those employed by local governments, are required to register. Failure to do so by November will result in withheld payments.

“In line with the administration’s commitment to accountability and transparency in resource management, a directive has been issued mandating all state employees, including those across the 16 local government areas, to complete their registration.

“From November, any worker who has not registered will not receive salary payments or bonuses,” she said.
