None Of You Has Permanent Job Aside My Deputy and I – Governor Mutfwang Warns Appointees

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has urged his government appointees to work diligently and make a positive impact in their respective roles.

Speaking at the 2025 Executive Retreat held in Miango, Bassa Local Government Area, the governor made it clear that apart from himself and the Deputy Governor, no official holds a permanent position.

The retreat, which took place on Monday, was attended by commissioners, permanent secretaries, special advisers, and other key government officials. Governor Mutfwang called on them to dedicate themselves fully to the service of the people, stressing that there is no room for personal interests or complacency.

“There is no time for selfishness, because one of the things that we will all do is for the progress of the society. No man can do it alone, and so the time when we were operating individually and creating power to ourselves is over,” he said.

He urged his appointees to take their assignments seriously, no matter how short their tenure might be, emphasizing that every effort counts in improving the lives of the people. According to him, those who hold government positions should not assume they have unlimited time to make a difference.

“Even if you are posted to a ministry for three months, make a difference,” he said.

Governor Mutfwang also advised his team to maintain integrity and remain accountable, reminding them that their loyalty should be to God and to the people they serve, rather than personal gains or political ambitions.

“So, you must always try on a daily basis to keep a clear conscience before God and before men. I will like to see us work unsupervised, I want us to give our best because our people are dying, our people are suffering, our people are living in poverty and they have given us the trust to do something about their situation,” he stated.

The governor noted that the challenges facing Plateau State require immediate and committed action from all government officials. He urged them to go beyond their limits to provide solutions to pressing issues such as poverty, insecurity, and economic hardship.

“We can’t wait no more, the time to make a difference is now. And I want to urge you wherever is your duty post, do your best and stretch yourself so that a solution can be provided to our people. May we not fail,” he added.
