National Security Adviser (NSA) Malam Nuhu Ribadu paid a condolence visit to the Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, on Sunday, April 6, 2025. The visit took place at the Government House in Dutse, the state capital.
Ribadu made the journey to personally offer his sympathies to Governor Namadi, following the loss of two close family members—the governor’s mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi, and his son, Abdulwahab Namadi. Both losses happened in recent weeks, but the NSA had not been able to visit earlier due to official engagements.
“I came personally to offer my condolences, which I had not been able to do earlier,” Ribadu said during the meeting with the governor.
He also offered prayers for the departed, asking for divine peace for the souls of the governor’s mother and son. The visit was carried out in a quiet and respectful manner, with few officials present, as it was purely for condolences and not linked to any political or security meeting.
In his response, Governor Namadi expressed gratitude to the NSA for making time to visit despite the demands of his role in the federal government.
“I appreciate your efforts for making time to visit despite your busy schedule,” the governor said.
Namadi also noted the importance of maintaining strong personal and official ties, saying such gestures go a long way in strengthening unity among national leaders. “This gesture highlights the strong bond between the two leaders,” Namadi stated.
“Your visit demonstrates your commitment to maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders in the country. As your office plays a crucial role in advising the President on national security matters,” he added.
