Oborevwori’s 2027 Gubernatorial Bid Gaining Momentum – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has said that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s 2027 governorship ambition is growing rapidly and firmly backed by supporters across the state.

According to the party, the level of support Oborevwori received at the recent South-South APC Stakeholders Meeting held in Benin City, along with similar backing at senatorial district gatherings in Delta, proves that his political future is not based on chance or manipulation.

The APC noted that the governor’s rising popularity reflects real public support and acceptance across the state.

In a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Valentine Onojeghuo, the APC reacted to an online article titled ‘2027: Oborevwori’s Ambition in Muddy Waters – Investigation’. The party dismissed the publication, calling it a failed attempt to mislead the public and tarnish the governor’s growing reputation within the APC and beyond.

“Delta APC wishes to state in no uncertain terms that this so-called ‘investigation’ is nothing but a desperate and poorly executed smear campaign orchestrated by a handful of politically expired elements who are struggling to stay relevant in a party that has moved far beyond their divisive antics and bloated egos,” the statement noted.

The party further said it was laughable that those who once worked against the APC during the last election are now accusing others of being sidelined. It argued that these individuals had earlier turned their backs on the party but are now trying to create confusion.

“Governor Oborevwori’s entry into the APC was not only legitimate – it was strategic, welcomed, and blessed by the Presidency and the national leadership of the party,” the party said.

The APC also dismissed claims that national party leaders are unhappy with Oborevwori’s endorsement. According to the statement, such claims are false and a direct insult to the intelligence of committed party members.

“Delta APC is not a personal estate of a few power-hungry men who think the party cannot function without them. The party belongs to the people, and the people are standing solidly with Governor Oborevwori.”

It added that it was unfortunate that some of these politicians were now paying writers to spread false reports in a last-ditch effort to revive their fading ambitions.

“Let it be known that Delta APC will not succumb to cowardly media attacks, blackmail journalism, or political manipulation into handing over its 2027 gubernatorial ticket,” the statement continued.

Despite all efforts to derail progress, the APC says it remains focused and united under Governor Oborevwori’s leadership. The party assured supporters that both new and long-time members are working together toward victory in 2027.

“Both new and old members are working hand-in-hand, not only to deliver a resounding victory in 2027 but also to expand the party’s grassroots base across all 25 LGAs in the state,” it noted.
