The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has announced the appointment of Oluwatoyin Taiwo as his new Chief of Staff. Taiwo, who previously served as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the governor, will now take on this key administrative role in the state government.
This development was disclosed through a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, which was shared with reporters on Thursday. Akinmade confirmed that Governor Abiodun personally handed over the appointment letter to Taiwo on Wednesday.
According to the statement, Taiwo’s appointment officially took effect on December 18, 2024. While presenting the letter, the governor expressed his confidence in Taiwo’s capabilities, describing the appointment as “well-deserved.”
Taiwo is no stranger to significant roles in Ogun State. During Governor Abiodun’s first term in office, he served as the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism. His strong performance in that role paved the way for his promotion to Deputy Chief of Staff, and now to Chief of Staff.
An academic achiever, Taiwo graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, with a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics. He has since pursued advanced studies, earning qualifications up to the doctoral level.
