The Ogun State government has approved the recruitment of 500 additional operatives into the Amotekun Corps as part of efforts to strengthen security across the state. Governor Dapo Abiodun gave the approval to expand the local security outfit, which has been playing a key role in safeguarding communities.

The Corps Commander of Amotekun, Brigadier General Alade Adedigba (rtd), announced that the recruitment process will begin on Monday, March 10, 2025. This comes just two months after the successful training and passing out parade of 690 new operatives. He noted that the move reflects the government’s commitment to improving safety for all residents.

Interested applicants are invited to apply free of charge through the official Amotekun website: ogunstateamotekun.com.ng. The application portal will remain open until Friday, April 4, 2025. Adedigba advised candidates to carefully follow the screening guidelines to ensure a smooth process.

A thorough screening exercise has been scheduled from Tuesday, April 22, 2025, to Thursday, May 1, 2025. Applicants are urged to prepare adequately and comply with all necessary requirements. The recruitment aims to increase the operational strength of the Amotekun Corps and enhance security in various communities across the state.

“This recruitment initiative marks a significant advancement in our continuous efforts to enhance the capacity of the Amotekun Corps, enabling our operatives to serve and protect the citizens of Ogun State more effectively. We strongly encourage all eligible individuals to participate in this important undertaking and play a vital role in fostering a secure community environment,” the statement read.
