In response to widespread rumors about the alleged death of former Imo State governor and senator, Rochas Okorocha, his aide, Ebere Nzeworji, has reassured the public that Okorocha is alive and in good health.
The rumor began circulating on Wednesday evening, November 6, through social media posts that claimed the senator had passed away in a hospital in London.
On Thursday morning, Nzeworji released a statement from Abuja, firmly dismissing the claims as “fake” and clarifying that Okorocha was seen at his Unity House office in Garki, Abuja, around the same time the rumor started spreading.
Nzeworji noted that Okorocha has been actively engaged in public life and recently returned from Owerri, Imo State, where he attended the funeral of the late elder statesman Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu on November 1.
Adding further details, Nzeworji stated that Okorocha had also hosted a gathering at his Spibat residence in Owerri.
Among the attendees was Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, along with other officials.
This series of public appearances, Nzeworji pointed out, demonstrates that Okorocha remains “hale and hearty,” and he urged the public to disregard the baseless rumors.
