In response to the upcoming Ondo State Governorship Election on Saturday, November 16, 2024, the National Examination Council (NECO) has made adjustments to the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External Timetable. This decision ensures that the electoral event does not interfere with scheduled exams, allowing students and exam officials to fully participate in the election.
This update was confirmed in a recent news alert posted on NECO’s official website, titled “Adjusted 2024 SSCE External Timetable.” NECO’s notice encourages candidates to examine the revised timetable carefully, as it highlights key changes for exams scheduled on November 16.
In addition, NECO reminded candidates about upcoming registration deadlines. Standard registration for the SSCE External Examination will end on November 6, 2024. Those who miss this deadline can still register through late registration, which will begin on November 7. Walk-in registration will also be available starting November 13, with both late and walk-in registrations subject to additional fees.
“Please note that the 2024 SSCE External Timetable has been adjusted due to the Ondo Governorship Election on Saturday, 16th November, 2024.
“The adjusted timetable is now available and should be reviewed alongside the original timetable. Be sure to check the changes for Saturday, 16th November,” it read.
“The registration deadline for the SSCE External Examination is 6th November 2024. Late registration starts on 7th November, and walk-in registration begins on 13th November. Both attract a fee,” the statement concluded.
