The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has distanced itself from allegations of corruption involving Hon. Andrew Torhile Uchi, the Personal Assistant to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is currently investigating claims of bribery, corruption, and money laundering linked to Uchi.
In response to the ongoing investigation, the OSGF has made it clear that its leadership has no connection to the alleged misconduct. The office notes its longstanding commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity in government affairs.
The statement, issued by Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information and Public Relations, also acknowledges the EFCC’s efforts to ensure that those found guilty of wrongdoing will be held responsible. While expressing support for the investigation, the OSGF urged the public to remain patient and avoid making assumptions or drawing conclusions before the case is fully examined.
Full statement reads; “The attention of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has been drawn to the ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) involving Hon. Andrew Torhile Uchi, Personal Assistant to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation bothering on allegations of corruption, bribery, and money laundering.”
“It is imperative to state categorically that the Office leadership is not in any way involved in the alleged misconduct as it has always maintained a strong commitment to transparency , accountability, and integrity. We recognize the efforts of the EFCC on this matter to ensure that those found culpable are held accountable. However, we urge the public not to speculate or draw conclusions as investigations are still ongoing.”
