Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen put on an impressive display, scoring twice as Galatasaray played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa in the Turkish Süper Lig on Sunday. Despite his heroics, Galatasaray dropped valuable points in their pursuit of the league title.
Osimhen, who has been in fine form this season, took his league goal tally to 16 with his brace. He gave Galatasaray the perfect start in the 11th minute, confidently converting a penalty after the visitors were awarded a spot-kick. The goal gave his team an early advantage, and they managed to hold onto their narrow lead going into the halftime break.
However, the second half saw a much-improved Kasimpasa side come out strong. The hosts found an equalizer in the 52nd minute when Mortadha Ben Ouanes found the back of the net. With momentum on their side, Kasimpasa then took the lead in the 61st minute through Josip Brekalo, turning the game around.
Galatasaray wasted no time in responding. Defender Davinson Sánchez stepped up in the 69th minute, scoring to bring his side level once again. Just two minutes later, Osimhen struck again, restoring Galatasaray’s lead with his second goal of the night.
It seemed as though the visitors were on course to secure a hard-fought victory, but Kasimpasa had other plans. In the final moments of the match, Haris Hajradinovic converted a penalty, ensuring the game ended in a dramatic 3-3 draw.
