Oyedepo’s Ex-Deputy Bishop Abioye Unveils New Church

Former Vice-President of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Abioye, has officially launched a new ministry known as the Conquerors Global Assembly. The unveiling took place during the church’s first-ever morning service in Abuja, which also marked the formal beginning of the new ministry’s operations.

The event, held under the theme “The Hour of Revival,” signaled a new chapter for Bishop Abioye after decades of service under Bishop David Oyedepo at Winners Chapel. Abioye also revealed the logo and the name of his new church during the gathering, marking a significant move in his spiritual journey and public ministry.

The service, held on Sunday, was filled with joyful reactions from members and supporters. Applause and cheers echoed through the hall as Bishop Abioye led the congregation through prayers and worship. The church had previously hosted evening meetings, but the shift to morning services marks a clear transition into full-scale church operations.

Last Sunday, Bishop Abioye had informed his followers about the switch from evening to morning services. His announcement was met with excitement, as many attendees were eager to witness what he called a fresh wave of revival. During the inaugural service, he was warmly received by the congregation and several other church leaders.

Bishop Abioye, along with Bishop Thomas Aremu, stepped down from their roles in October 2024 following a policy update by Living Faith Church. The church introduced a new age limit of 55 years for leadership roles. At the time, Abioye was 63 and Aremu 67, prompting both men to officially retire from their long-standing positions.

This development came as a surprise to some, but many close followers had anticipated Abioye’s next move. Sunday’s service put to rest months of speculation about whether he would continue ministerial work independently.

Though the new church is still in its early phase, it has already drawn attention from Christians around the country. The launch suggests that Bishop Abioye is ready to pursue a fresh direction in his calling, independent from the umbrella of Living Faith Church.

Abioye has not yet commented on how his new ministry will operate differently from Winners Chapel, but sources close to the cleric suggest that his vision is centered on spiritual renewal and a strong sense of divine purpose.
