Oyo Residents Welcome Owoade as New Alaafin – Ladigbolu

Archbishop Emeritus Ayo Ladigbolu, Chairman of the Oyo Metropolitan Development Association, has stated that a majority of Oyo town residents are pleased with the appointment of Akeem Owoade as the new Alaafin of Oyo.

Ladigbolu, a respected Oyo prince and one of the aspirants for the throne, noted that while some may not be in favor of Owoade’s emergence, time would help ease their concerns. He stressed that the town is looking forward to stable leadership and a prosperous future under the new king.

“The majority of our people are pleased to have a king. Oyo needs leadership, peace, progress, and prosperity. All hands are on deck in support of a very successful coronation ceremony,” Ladigbolu stated.

Speaking further, he explained that the acceptance of Owoade stems from the town’s strong desire for stability and growth. Despite any opposition, he believes unity will prevail in due time.

“Time will heal the pains of dissenting voices,” he added.

Ladigbolu shared these remarks in an exclusive conversation on Thursday, where he described the general mood in Oyo as optimistic and supportive of the upcoming coronation. He noted that preparations are in full swing to ensure a smooth transition of leadership.

Meanwhile, the Alaafin-designate returned to Nigeria on Wednesday after spending approximately seven weeks in Canada. His return marks an important step leading up to his official coronation, which is scheduled to take place on April 5.
