The Oyo State Government has successfully completed the oral interview process for 8,077 candidates as part of its recent teacher recruitment drive.
The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Nureni Adeniran, made this announcement during a meeting with board members in Ibadan, the state capital. Adeniran noted that the interviews concluded on August 26, 2024, after starting on August 14, 2024.
According to Adeniran, a total of 50,700 applicants initially registered on the official board website. Of these, 45,827 candidates sat for the qualifying examination, with 8,197 scoring above the required 50 marks, making them eligible for the next stage of the recruitment process.
The chairman explained that the oral interviews did not include applicants with disabilities, who will have their dedicated interview sessions on September 10 and 11, 2024.
Adeniran praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his strong focus on improving education in the state and confirmed that the board is working closely with the State Agency for People With Disabilities to ensure a fair recruitment process for all applicants.
He added that interviews for caregiver positions are scheduled for September 12, 2024. Adeniran encouraged candidates in this category to log into their portal to download their interview schedule slips, emphasizing that only the most qualified candidates will be selected for employment.
