The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has distanced himself from a series of artificial intelligence-generated videos falsely linking him to drug promotions and scholarship programs.
These deceptive videos, which have been making rounds on social media, have misled many people by falsely associating Adeboye with claims he never made. The pastor has now come forward to clear the air, warning the public to be cautious of such fraudulent activities.
On Wednesday, March 26, Adeboye took to his official Facebook page to address the issue, making it clear that he has no involvement in any drug-related promotions or scholarship offers. He urged his followers to remain alert and avoid engaging with these misleading posts.
“I have been made aware of disturbing AI-generated videos circulating online, falsely advertising certain drugs and scholarships that are intended to deceive and mislead people,” Adeboye stated.
“These videos are NOT from me, and I want to make it clear that I have no involvement in such promotions. I urge all of you, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, to be vigilant and not fall for these fraudulent schemes.”
He further warned that these videos were designed to take advantage of people’s trust for selfish reasons. He advised his followers not to share or interact with these false claims but instead report them to social media platforms to prevent the spread of misinformation.
Adeboye also called attention to two specific entities—‘Africa Health Centre’ and ‘Church-Funded Scholarships’—which he accused of being responsible for the deceptive content. He reassured his followers that the authorities are already handling the situation.
“These malicious acts by ‘Africa Health Centre’ and ‘Church-Funded Scholarships’ are being dealt with already by the relevant authorities as we will not allow God’s name to be used in vain for such wickedness,” he noted.
The pastor concluded his statement by urging his followers to stay committed to the truth and continue focusing on their faith rather than being distracted by falsehoods.
