PDP Condemns Sokoto Terror Attack, Demands Swift Action

The Sokoto State branch of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the recent terrorist assault on Kwalajiya village in Tangaza Local Government Area, calling the incident a cruel and shocking tragedy.

In a statement released to the media on Friday and signed by the PDP’s Publicity Secretary, Hassan Sahabi Sanyinnawal, the party expressed sadness over the brutal killing of 15 villagers and the injury of seven others during the attack on the Lakurawa community earlier this week.

“The PDP Sokoto State Chapter is shocked and outraged by the recent Lakurawa terrorist attack on Kwalajiya village in Tangaza.

Our hearts go out to the families of the 15 innocent lives lost and the seven others who sustained injuries,” the statement partly read.

According to the party, the attackers struck without mercy, leaving families in mourning and communities devastated. The PDP called on security forces to act quickly to capture those behind the attack and ensure they face justice.

The party also urged the Sokoto State Government to increase the presence of security officers in the affected region to prevent further attacks and help rebuild confidence among local residents.

The statement noted that the PDP stands in full support of the people of Tangaza during this difficult period. It also called for the immediate deployment of emergency relief materials and medical help for survivors and families affected by the violence.

The PDP also pointed fingers at the Federal Government, saying it must do more to protect Nigerians from terrorists. The party stressed that these incidents have become far too frequent and can no longer be ignored.

“This latest attack is one too many. We demand that the Federal Government rise to its constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property,” it added.
