Peter Obi, Alex Otti to Hold Labour Party Stakeholders Meeting in Umuahia

Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State, have called for an important stakeholders meeting for the Labour Party. The meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 4th, at the Banquet Hall in Government House, Umuahia, Abia State.

The meeting is being organized with the aim of strengthening the Labour Party and bringing together key members to discuss the party’s future direction and strategies. According to Dodoh Okafor, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Alex Otti on Public Communication, the focus of the meeting is to build a “stronger and better Labour Party.”

The meeting will see a wide range of stakeholders in attendance. Among them are Peter Obi, Governor Alex Otti, the party’s former vice-presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed, and the executives led by Julius Aburi. In addition, Senators and members of the House of Representatives from the Labour Party are expected to participate.

The circular for the meeting states that “3 representatives of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) who are members of the National Executive Council of the Party, 3 representatives of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) who are members of the National Executive Council of Labour Party,” will be present. Other attendees include the Deputy Governor of Abia State, current and former Senators, and all Labour Party members of state Houses of Assembly.

Additionally, several members of the National Working Committee, such as the National Chairman, Deputy National Chairman, Secretary, Woman Leader, and Youth Leader, as well as gubernatorial candidates from Edo and Ondo states, will be in attendance. Former gubernatorial candidates representing the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria are also expected to attend.
