Peter Obi Yet to Recover From 2023 Election Loss – Bwala

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has stated that Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has yet to move on from his defeat in the election.

Bwala made this statement on Wednesday in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account while reacting to Obi’s interview with Arise TV. In the interview, Obi criticized the Tinubu administration, making several sarcastic remarks about the government’s performance so far.

Bwala, however, dismissed Obi’s comments, saying they lacked facts and logical reasoning. He argued that Obi was still struggling to position himself as a strong opposition leader.

“As I listen to Peter Obi this evening struggling to play the opposition (oppose the government), I can’t help but shudder at his abysmal delivery,” Bwala wrote.

“He was speaking devoid of facts, logical analysis, and almost sounded like a tinkling cymbal or a sounding brass. Mr Gregory has still not recovered from the painful defeat of the 2023 polls.”

Bwala also claimed that Obi had become isolated politically and was now in a difficult position ahead of the 2027 elections. He suggested that Obi’s agreement to work with other opposition parties could weaken his political influence.

“But I can understand his confusion because as it stands today, he seems deserted in the banana republic of fantasy, wondering how he will convince his followers about his agreement to play second fiddle in the 2027 wild goose chase of the opposition. Nigeria dodged a bullet,” he added.
