Petrol Tanker Catches Fire Near NASFAT Camp on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Panic erupted on Wednesday when a petrol tanker suddenly went up in flames right in front of the NASFAT prayer ground along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The incident, which took place in the early hours of the day, caused widespread fear among road users and residents nearby.

Eyewitnesses say the tanker was moving along the expressway when it suddenly lost balance and fell. Within moments, the vehicle caught fire, sending flames and thick black smoke high into the sky.

Many vehicles came to an abrupt halt, with motorists jumping out and running for safety. Local residents near the NASFAT camp were also seen fleeing as the fire quickly spread around the tanker.

A social media user with the handle SegunOladejo_, who described himself as #EndSARS Segun | Legal, shared updates online, saying, “A tanker is burning on Lagos-Ibadan expressway just opposite NASFAT praying ground. The fire is horrible.”
