PHOTO: Tinubu Meets Alaafin of Oyo at State House

President Bola Tinubu on Friday welcomed the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, and his wife, Abiwumi Owoade, to the State House in Abuja. The visit was part of a broader effort to maintain strong ties between the Nigerian government and traditional rulers across the country.

The Alaafin arrived in company of key aides, and was warmly received by top government officials. Present at the meeting were Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris. Also in attendance was Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, who was part of the delegation.

During the meeting, discussions focused on cultural unity and ways to support growth and development in Oyo State and across the Southwest. Both sides talked about how traditional institutions can help bridge the gap between the government and local communities, especially in the areas of education, culture, and social welfare.

Tinubu and Oba Owoade were seen smiling and shaking hands, as they posed for photos with other government officials. The images captured during the meeting showed a sense of respect and partnership between the presidency and traditional leaders.
