Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has officially recognized former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, as a traditional ruler.

The recognition was marked by the presentation of a certificate to Dokubo, affirming his position as the Amayanabo (traditional king) of Torusarama-Piri Elem Kalabari.

This notable event occurred during the quarterly general meeting of traditional rulers held in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

The meeting, which brought together respected monarchs from various communities, served as a platform to honor individuals for their contributions to their regions and cultural heritage.

In addition to Dokubo, the governor also presented certificates of recognition to three other monarchs, underscoring the state’s commitment to preserving and respecting traditional institutions.

The recognized monarchs included Winston Odiye Alamina, known as Oputibeya XII and Amayanabo of the Koniju Kingdom, Eze Noble Friday Uwoh (Eze Igbu-Ehuda IV), and Ike Ehie (Eze Igbu Orlukwor).
