Rose Idibia, the mother of popular Nigerian singer Innocent “2Face” Idibia, has made an emotional plea to Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawuru, asking her to leave her son alone.
In a video that surfaced online on Thursday evening, Mrs. Idibia expressed concern over her son’s well-being, stating that he is not in the right state of mind due to his ongoing divorce from his estranged wife, Annie Idibia.
“Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, the mother of 2Face. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son,” she said in the video.
She further noted, “My son is going through a divorce process, and he is clearly not in his right senses now. I know my son well. That is not him. Please Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and on his neck, remove them and free him.”
The video came shortly after another clip went viral, showing 2Face proposing to Natasha Osawaru. In the footage, the musician was seen dancing with the lawmaker before presenting her with a ring, after which they embraced for a long time.
This development has sparked reactions online, as it comes just days after 2Face publicly confirmed his relationship with Osawaru. The singer had previously taken to Instagram to clarify the situation, addressing rumors about their involvement.
“Allegedly, I have seen so many things, so many people coming up with their own false narratives and malicious nonsense after I posted that stuff that I posted. Yes, I posted what I posted,” 2Face said in his video.
He also defended Osawaru, stating, “Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labelled as a home breaker. She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage. Yes, I love her. She is amazing, and she is cool. I want to marry her.”
Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing the Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was elected in April 2023. Her relationship with 2Face had been speculated for weeks after the singer was spotted at the Edo State Assembly and later seen with her at a Lagos club.
