The Gombe State Police Command has arrested nine individuals linked to various criminal activities, including armed robbery, thuggery, and criminal conspiracy. The arrests were made during different police operations aimed at reducing crime in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, disclosed this on Friday, stating that several stolen items were recovered, such as mobile phones, ATM cards, and cash.
He said, “We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our residents.
“We will continue to work tirelessly to combat crime and bring perpetrators to justice.”
Among those arrested were three suspects—Mohammad Ahmad, Abdullahi Adamu, and Yau Adamu—who were apprehended for an armed robbery incident that occurred at the Federal Low-Cost Quarters in Gombe Local Government Area.
According to the police statement, the three suspects were armed with a sharp knife when they robbed two residents of their belongings. The stolen items included a Redmi Android phone worth N150,000, a Tecno Android phone valued at N100,000, three ATM cards, and N3,000 in cash.
During questioning, the suspects reportedly admitted to committing the crime. DSP Abdullahi noted that all the stolen items were successfully recovered. He further urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
“We are pleased that we were able to recover all the stolen items and bring the suspects to justice. We urge members of the public to continue to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station,” he added.
