Police Arrest Three Over Gombe Ex-Perm Secretary’s Murder

The Kano State Police Command has announced the arrest of three individuals in connection with the murder of Atiku Mu’azu, a retired Permanent Secretary and former Chairman of the Gombe State Board of Internal Revenue Service.

Mu’azu, who had been living in Kano State since his retirement, was reportedly abducted and killed in the area.

Confirming the arrests, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Abdullahi, stated, “Three suspects have been apprehended in connection with the death of the Gombe retired permanent secretary and are now in our custody. As soon as the investigation is completed, the suspects will be charged to court for appropriate prosecution.”

The tragic news was met with shock and sorrow by many, including Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya. On Saturday, the governor expressed his deep sadness over the death of Mu’azu, who was highly regarded for his service to the state.
