Officers of the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested two young men suspected to be cult members. The suspects, both university students, were taken into custody in the early hours of Sunday after allegedly attending a confraternity gathering at a hotel in Lekki.
The police revealed this information in a statement shared on X.com on Thursday. The suspects have been identified as 21-year-old Okey Bright, also known as “B in Fine Boy,” and 22-year-old Daniel Prince, who goes by the name “Rugged Promotion.” The authorities noted that the duo was apprehended around 4:00 a.m. while returning from the event.
According to preliminary investigations, Bright, a resident of Ikoyi, is a university student who joined the confraternity in 2024. Prince, who is also a university student, works as a hairstylist.
The police have not disclosed the specific cult group the suspects are allegedly affiliated with, but sources suggest that the confraternity meeting they attended was an annual event. Such gatherings are believed to be a way for members to recruit new individuals, discuss activities, and strengthen their connections.
