Popular Nigerian Islamic singer, Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso, will be laid to rest today, Tuesday, following her death, which was earlier reported by various media outlets.
A Solatul Janazzah (Islamic prayer for the deceased) was held in her honor earlier today in Ojota, Lagos State. The event, streamed live via TikTok, was attended by family, friends, and well-wishers.
The funeral service was emotional, as loved ones gathered to pay their final respects to the singer, who had captured the hearts of many with her soulful and inspirational Islamic music.
After the prayer session in Lagos, it was announced that the final prayer and burial would be held in Ijebu Aiyepe, Ogun State, at noon. This information was also confirmed by YAYI TV, a prominent Islamic channel that shares religious content across various social media platforms.
In a post shared on Facebook, YAYI TV said, “Alh. Rukayat Gawat is no more. May Allah be pleased with her – Amin,” and also provided details about the funeral arrangements in Ogun State.
