President Tinubu Approves Federal University for Southern Kaduna, Promises Development

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially approved the establishment of a federal university in Southern Kaduna.

The announcement was made by Vice President Kashim Shettima during a condolence visit to the Kukah family following the passing of Yohanna Kukah, the Agwom Akulu of Ikulu Chiefdom.

The visit, which took place over the weekend, was accompanied by a statement released on Monday by Shettima’s spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha.

The late traditional ruler, Yohanna Kukah, was a family member of Bishop Matthew Kukah, a prominent figure in the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto.

Vice President Shettima expressed the federal government’s plans to improve infrastructure and educational opportunities in Southern Kaduna.

He stated, “With Senator Katung and the member of the House of Representatives, we have reached out to President Bola Tinubu, and he has consented to the establishment of a federal university in Southern Kaduna.”

Further plans were also highlighted, including discussions to establish a Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan. These initiatives, according to Shettima, are part of a broader commitment by President Tinubu to foster development in the region.

He cited the appointment of General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff as a testament to the administration’s dedication to addressing Southern Kaduna’s security and developmental challenges.

Addressing residents, Shettima assured, “Rest assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the people of Kaduna and the people of Southern Kaduna at heart.” He also commended Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for his inclusive governance, emphasizing the need to create a sense of belonging for all communities.
