President Tinubu Mourns Kano Kingmaker, Abbas Sanusi

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaji Abbas Sanusi, the Galadiman Kano and a key figure in the Kano Emirate Council.

Sanusi, a respected elder and traditional leader, passed away at the age of 92 after a long battle with illness. He leaves behind a large family, including children and grandchildren. Among them is Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, who serves as the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State.

A statement released by the President’s spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday noted Tinubu’s appreciation for Sanusi’s lifetime of service to the traditional institution. The President described the late kingmaker as a vital figure whose influence and efforts extended far beyond Kano State.

“The late Galadiman Kano was a pillar of the traditional institution. His contributions to its growth and preservation will always be remembered, not just in the Kano Emirate but across Nigeria,” Tinubu noted.

The President extended his condolences to the people and government of Kano State, as well as the Kano Emirate Council. He also shared his sympathies with Sanusi’s family, offering prayers that the late leader’s soul finds peace in Jannatul Firdaus.
