The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Public Affairs, Aliyu Audu, has stepped down from his role. His resignation was made public on Monday, following the submission of a formal letter dated June 8.
The letter was addressed to the President through his Chief of Staff and stated that the decision to leave the role was effective immediately.
Audu, in his resignation note, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for giving him the platform to serve the nation. He described the experience as an honour and thanked the president for his leadership.
“I write to formally tender my resignation… effective immediately. I thanked the President for the opportunity to serve my fatherland under your visionary leadership,” Audu wrote.
He also mentioned Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, in his message. Audu noted that it was Ngelale’s endorsement that helped him get the appointment in August 2023.
“It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration,” he added.
