PSC Appoints New Police Commissioners for Taraba, Anambra

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of new Commissioners of Police for Taraba and Anambra states.

The announcement was made on Wednesday in a statement released by PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani.

The newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Taraba State is Chukwudi Ariekpere, who hails from Abia State. He takes over from CP Peter Oparah, who previously held the position.

In Anambra State, the commission appointed Livingstein Orutugu from Bayelsa State as the new Commissioner of Police, replacing Obong Nnache Itam.

The statement noted that the PSC chairman, retired Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Hashimu Argungu, urged the newly appointed commissioners to assume their duties without delay.

He stressed the importance of ensuring smooth transitions in leadership to maintain security and stability in their respective states.
