Paris Saint-Germain delivered a dominant performance to crush Real Madrid 4-0 and earn a place in the FIFA Club World Cup final. Fabian Ruiz netted twice in the first half, with Ousmane Dembele and Goncalo Ramos also on the scoresheet in a commanding display at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The clash marked a reunion with Kylian Mbappe, but it was PSG’s new-look squad that stole the show. Ruiz opened the scoring early on after capitalizing on a loose ball, and Dembele quickly followed with a clinical finish to double the lead inside the first ten minutes.
Before the first half ended, Ruiz struck again, finishing off a swift move started by Achraf Hakimi. Despite the presence of Real Madrid supporters among the crowd of over 77,000, the Spanish giants were silenced by PSG’s sharp attacking play and control of the game.
Luis Enrique’s men, fresh off a historic Champions League victory in May, appear to be in peak form. After brushing aside Atletico Madrid earlier in the tournament, they have now dismantled both Spanish powerhouses en route to the final, where Chelsea awaits.
Kylian Mbappe, now with Real Madrid, struggled in his first start of the competition and first game against PSG since his move last year. He had a deflected effort comfortably saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma, but otherwise failed to make an impact.
Real Madrid, under new manager Xabi Alonso, appeared out of sync and lacked cohesion throughout. The absence of key players like Trent Alexander-Arnold and suspended defender Dean Huijsen was evident. Even with Mbappe’s return and the presence of Vinicius Junior and young Gonzalo Garcia, they created little threat.
PSG’s fourth came late, with Goncalo Ramos receiving a pass from Bradley Barcola, turning smartly, and smashing the ball into the net to complete the rout.
Now just one game away from lifting the revamped 32-team Club World Cup trophy, PSG look unstoppable. Their blend of experience, pace, and tactical sharpness has made them the standout team of the tournament.
