PSG Knock Liverpool Out of Champions League on Penalties

Paris Saint-Germain secured their place in the Champions League quarter-finals after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday. The French side triumphed 4-1 on penalties after a tense last-16 battle.

Liverpool entered the match with a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, but PSG quickly responded. Ousmane Dembélé scored in the 12th minute, leveling the tie on aggregate. Both teams fought hard throughout the game, creating chances but failing to find another goal before full-time.

With extra time also unable to separate the sides, the match went to penalties. PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma emerged as the hero, making crucial saves against Darwin Núñez and Curtis Jones. The visitors converted all their penalties, sealing a 4-1 shootout win and their spot in the quarter-finals.

Liverpool, who had dominated the group stage, now face disappointment as their Champions League journey comes to an early end. Meanwhile, PSG continue their pursuit of European glory, celebrating a hard-fought victory on English soil.
