Reject Political Appointments from PDP Govt – APC Orders Members

The Taraba State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a strict warning to its members, asking them to steer clear of political appointments offered by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

In an official notice released on Tuesday, the state APC chairman, Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi, made it clear that the party would not tolerate any defiance of this instruction.

He noted that any member who accepts an appointment from the PDP-led government without proper authorization from the party’s top national leadership will be removed from the party.

“No member of the party is permitted to accept appointments from the incumbent state government without an approval from the APC’s National Working Committee, NWC,” the statement read.

Referring to Article 9.5 of the APC Constitution (Amended 2022), the party stated that anyone who joins another party’s government without formal approval would lose their membership in the APC.

“A person shall cease to be a member of the party if he accepts political appointment from another political party in government without the approval of the National Working Committee,” the statement added.

Taking the matter seriously, the APC in Taraba has now ordered its 168 ward chairmen to begin removing the names of any such individuals from their records. In addition, party leaders in all 16 local government areas have been told to identify those involved and ensure they are not allowed to take part in the upcoming electronic registration exercise.

The party chairman also noted the loyalty of members who have remained faithful to the APC’s ideals, promising that such commitment will not go unnoticed.

“We thank all principled and law-abiding members for remaining steadfast and patient,” the notice read.
