Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed confidence in his leadership, stating that the support of the people makes him stronger each day as the state navigates ongoing political challenges.
Speaking during a Christmas Ballad hosted by former Rivers State Governor Sir Peter Odili, Fubara reflected on the turbulence in the state and the unwavering backing from the citizens.
Fubara has been at odds with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, over political control in the state. Despite this, he reassured residents of his commitment to serving with integrity.
In a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, the governor vowed to remain steadfast, declaring, “I get stronger in this course every day when I look at the support I am getting from the true Rivers people.”
Governor Fubara attributed his resilience to divine intervention and the solidarity of Rivers’ residents. “It is not me being strong,” he noted, “My strength is drawn from everyone of you that is here. You gave me the encouragement… why won’t I stand up for you?”
Highlighting his administration’s goals, Fubara promised progress in 2025 and emphasized the brighter future ahead, as evidenced by the Christmas celebrations’ joy across the state.
Former Governor Peter Odili commended Fubara for his bravery in facing political adversities and praised his efforts to stabilize governance. Justice Mary Odili also lauded the governor’s role as a leader and pledged her family’s continued support.
