‘Same P-Square Who Are Against APC Performed at Buhari’s Inauguration’ – Seyi Law

A popular comedian, Seyi Law, has taken to social media to criticize the famous Nigerian music duo, P-Square, for what he calls their hypocrisy regarding political support.

In a recent interview with media personality Teju BabyFace, Seyi Law accused the twin brothers of not being consistent in their political stance and highlighted their past actions that contradicted their current position.

Seyi Law, known for his outspoken views, expressed his frustration over the political inconsistency of certain entertainers.

He noted that P-Square, who are currently opposed to the government of President Bola Tinubu, had once performed at the inauguration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to the comedian, the duo’s participation in Buhari’s inauguration was hypocritical, considering their current rejection of Tinubu’s leadership.

He further explained that the same group of entertainers who supported Buhari back in 2015 were now criticizing the APC, even though their political views appeared to be easily swayed.

“The same people who are against the APC today once danced on the stage when Buhari was inaugurated. ‘E no easy ee ooooo. To sing and to dey dance and the people dey rejoice eee,’ they did it for Buhari and today Tinubu is the enemy,” he remarked.

Seyi Law went on to criticize his colleagues for claiming they would have supported Osinbajo if he had been the presidential candidate for the APC.

He described this as a contradiction, suggesting that if Osinbajo had been chosen, P-Square and others would have rallied behind him, using Buhari’s legacy as a stepping stone to defeat any opposition.

Seyi Law challenged this view, saying, “Is he not the same Yoruba man? Stop being hypocrite because all of you knew that if APC had brought Osinbajo, you would have used the badge of Buhari to defeat him.”

The comedian’s statements come in light of P-Square’s recent political activity. In 2023, the music duo openly supported Peter Obi, performing at events organized by the Labour Party. This shift in allegiance has sparked debates on social media, with many questioning the sincerity of their political stance.

It is worth noting that in 2015, P-Square performed their hit song “E No Easy” at Buhari’s inauguration, which was a moment of national celebration. However, their later support for the opposition party and their performance at Labour Party campaigns in 2023 have led to criticism from figures like Seyi Law.
