After nearly four months away from official duties, the Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Aminu Alkali, has returned to Jalingo following a prolonged medical trip. His arrival on Saturday marked the end of what sources say was a nearly four-month absence due to health concerns.
Alkali’s return was recorded at about 1:40 p.m. when a private aircraft landed at the Danbaba Suntai Airport in Jalingo. The arrival was kept quiet, with no prior information provided to media outlets, which left journalists unaware of the event until after it occurred.
A source at the state government house shared that the Deputy Governor had first received medical attention in Abuja before being transferred to Egypt for further treatment. The specific nature of his illness remains undisclosed, and no official medical update has been issued by government officials or family members.
“We were told the Deputy Governor is back in Jalingo, but nobody informed us about his return. We only heard about it after he got to town,” the source said.
