Defence Minister Israel Katz has issued a serious warning to Iran, declaring that the Iranian capital, Tehran, would face devastating consequences if it launched further missile attacks on Israel. This threat comes as hostilities between the two longtime enemies escalate for a second straight day.
On Saturday, Katz made his strongest remarks yet in response to Iran’s recent missile activity. In a statement, he directly addressed Iran’s Supreme Leader, saying, “If (Ayatollah Ali) Khamenei continues to fire missiles toward the Israeli home front –- Tehran will burn.”
The Defence Minister noted that the Iranian leadership is putting its own citizens at risk by provoking military confrontation. He accused Iran’s top leaders of treating their people like “hostages” and creating a dangerous situation that could lead to widespread suffering in Iran itself.
