Armed terrorists attacked the Kungurki community in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, leaving one elderly man dead and abducting 13 people, including a two-month-old baby and his mother.
The attack, which occurred under the cover of darkness, has left residents in shock and fear.
Counterterrorism expert Zagazola Makama shared details of the incident on Sunday through his X social media account.
According to Makama, intelligence sources revealed that the attackers entered the village late at night, firing gunshots to intimidate and overpower the community.
The terrorists reportedly looted numerous shops, taking away food items, household goods, and other valuables.
A local resident who spoke with DAILY POST described the attack as horrifying, stating, “The attackers moved swiftly, rounding up their victims and retreating into the nearby forest. It was a terrifying experience,” a resident said.
“They took women and children, and an elderly man was killed in cold blood,” the security expert said.
